South Winnipeg Art Group

The South Winnipeg Art Group was launched by a few artists in April 2019. The love of art and of promoting artists was the driving passion behind planning and organizing the Mosaic Art Studio Tour event.

The studios are situated in South Winnipeg:  Waverley West, Waverley Heights, Fort Garry, Lindenwoods, Whyte Ridge, Fort Richmond, Richmond West and St Vital. Many artists exhibit in their own studios or join artists who have studio space.

Our members’ enduring vision will promote and establish the Mosaic Studio Tour as an annual art event worthy of participation.

Our Mission Statement:

The Studio Tour’s purpose is to engage, educate and enrich our community by

providing residents and beyond, the chance to discover and appreciate a broad

range of artistic expressions from a cultural mosaic of artists. The intention is to

promote South Winnipeg artisans: to promote an opportunity to showcase their

work and contribute in their artistic endeavours.

The involvement of the artists will help raise awareness of their studios and

practices. The main intent behind promoting artists’ studios is to generate a

greater understanding of art and culture to both young and old, which in turn

will inspire those attending to find their creative sides.

It is believed that art impacts those who attend in a positive way, leading to longer lives.
